This enchanting lollipop trail, squeezed between two estates, has become much easier to find thanks to the handsome new archway at the trail head. The path seems to have been cleared as well, but two days after rain, it was still swampy and quite slippery, so I abandoned the effort to continue. I’m eager to follow the narrow corridor to the cathedral of trees sheltering the broad and picturesque river and wetlands that I remember from the Spring. Maybe now I’ll be able to find my way back without bushwhacking.
AS A WINE….
She’d be Malbec, with plenty to chew on including layers of vibrant, juicy fruit and craggily bramble flavors that just won’t let go.
