This peculiar little knoll opposite the Conejo Valley Botanic Gardens boasts a panoramic view from the bench on its bald summit that extends from the Santa Monica Mountains, across the valley to a strikingly stark, parched view of the Los Padres Mountains. The paved spiral path is short but steep, climbing 275 feet in half a mile past mature cactus groves and wildflowers. There’s a small fenced off reservoir at the top and so much for the eyes to take in.
We didn’t see any tarantulas…. until we peaked behind the trail sign. 🙂
