A secret garden. Right here in New Jersey – and complete with ivy-covered stone walls, trellised passageways, a romantic estate, rolling meadows and even a Rapunzelesque stone tower. No doubt breathtaking in full bloom, it’s enchanting all the time …. and ever an excellent setting for hide-and-seek.
The estate connects to the 46-mile Patriot’s Trail and sits among an impressive collection of historic sites and wildlife preserves, in case there’s any time left over after luxuriating under the dogwoods and hydrangeas.
AS A WINE….
It felt like a Champagne as we took a turn in the mansion’s circular driveway, before we even got out of the car. And then roses and camellias still blooming in the walled gardens on that December day turned the bubbles pink.
