The trail leading through Goleta’s Ellwood Mesa and Bluffs to the beach is bustling with adventure. It dives from the edge of a neighborhood into a Eucalyptus forest, from which you can either explore the famous Monarch habitat or head farther north. Either way, you’ll reach the Mesa, where the trail traverses a wide, flat meadow with views in every direction before skirting the edge of the bluffs overlooking the ocean. A sandy ravine cuts down to the beach, picturesque with its high cliffs and full of entertainment among the rocky tide pools at low tide. To return, loop back the way you didn’t come.
