This seemingly simple, out-and-back bike path between Ridge Rd. and Stouts Ln. tucks away a few surprises. First, there are picturesque swamps, lily ponds and streams on both sides of the path. For the train gazers, the train blows right past the Ridge Rd. entrance. And for the foragers – we harvested a delicious handful of Autumn Olives in late October. (Note: IT’S ONLY AN EDIBLE RED AUTUMN OLIVE BERRY IF IT’S COVERED IN GOLDEN SPARKLES).
The 1.5-mile stretch is mostly straight, so as I walked and my companion rode his bike, it was easy to stay within view of each other.
