Lenape Trail

Lenape Trail

Driving past this place and not stopping shows phenomenal restraint. From the road at Mill Pond Park, between lily pads and onto a long and skinny peninsula, the sandy path lures and beguiles. And it doesn’t let you down, eventually crossing a pretty bridge and hugging the broad river before it dives back under a canopy of trees. After the bridge, the trail is paved and level – perfect for biking.

As the paved path heads into the trees, if you can confidently side-step the poison ivy, follow the wispy trails into the narrow strip of woods to reach the mossy shore line. It’s perfect for building fairy villages and watching herons.
