It’s easy to miss the tiny parking lot adjacent to the wisp of a footpath that introduces this preserve, but oh what a miss…. especially in late summer.
What begins as a willowing path through skinny woods flanked by a tiny overlookable stream launches through a natural green archway to a lawn-bedded loop with a mixed meadow of brush and trees in the middle. Blackberry bushes dot the path and in July or August, you won’t need to bring any other snack (except maybe an al fresco pie kit). The path connects to an extended walk as well.
AS A WINE….
She’d be an exuberant, jammy Beaujolais, perfect for a picnic and just as tasty a little chilled.
