I’ve come at this natural wonder so many times and still have countless stones to turn. Known far and wide for its epic mountain biking trails, Six Mile Run is a mecca for hiking and horseback riding as well. Some of the red clay paths are so packed and well-worn that they feel more like luge runs – and yet surprises are sprinkled in everywhere: an unexpected square clearing, an arched bridge, an endless boardwalk, a squiggly path so accordioned it bends time and space.
There are over half a dozen entry points to this swirling current of wonder. It doesn’t really matter where you jump in, but I think Jacques Lane is a good place to start.
AS A WINE….
Rogue and rugged but also classically beautiful, dense, enigmatic and ever lasting – this is a cult California Cab.
