This verdant gorge with a lake at its heart and wooded slopes around its perimeter is bursting with blooms, rock gardens and footbridges in all the spaces between. Leonard Buck, a trustee of the New York Botanical Gardens in the 1930s, and Swiss landscape architect Zenon Schreiber, created this 29-acre landscape masterpiece with 2.5 miles of enchanting footpaths.
